Building Career Confidence: A Workshop for Teens
Overwhelmed helping your teen figure out their career/college plans? You don’t have to do it alone! Have your teen join us for our new workshop, Building Career Confidence.
In this 1 hour interactive workshop for 11th-12th graders, your teen will identify their skills, accomplishments, and practical next steps to kickstart their career. Whether their goal is an Ivy League, an internship, or something entirely unique, this workshop will give them the tools to start their career strong.
Attendees will learn how to:
✅ Showcase hobbies, clubs, classes, and jobs in resumes and college applications
✅ Craft strong personal stories to demonstrate skills in interviews, college application essays, and scholarship essays
✅ Learn new skills for free & gain work experience through do-it-yourself personal projects
✅ Learn about people’s career paths and start building a professional network through informational interviews
When: Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 3-4pm
Where: ARISE Counseling Center and Training Institute, 755 W Big Beaver Rd, Suite 475, Troy, Michigan 48084
Facilitator: Danielle Nicholson (GenZ Career Coach & Oakland University Counseling Master’s student)
Cost: $50 per person
Materials: All attendees will walk away with:
A workbook full of career development tips
A digital resume and cover letter template
Actionable steps to start gaining experience in their desired field
