"I believe therapy is a compassionate partnership that nurtures connection, fosters resilience, and empowers children, teens, and families to thrive."
Hello, I’m Dana.
I am passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where children, teens, and families feel connected, supported, and understood. My approach emphasizes building a sense of community, promoting mental health education, and providing a safe space for open dialogue. Together, we focus on harnessing strengths, fostering resilience, and cultivating meaningful growth while navigating challenges with compassion and care.
My background & approach
With a strong foundation in mental health counseling and a dedication to community connection, I approach my work with warmth, creativity, and a holistic perspective. I am committed to making mental health resources accessible, approachable, and culturally responsive for every client I serve.
As a Limited License Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in working with children, adolescents, teens, families, and young adults. I believe that during these formative years, consistent support, guidance, and a trusted therapeutic alliance can make a lasting difference. I help clients explore challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, and family stress, always centering their values and cultural context in the process.
My approach to therapy is grounded in humanistic, person-centered, and strengths-based values, with training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for trauma-impacted Black youth and families as well as LGBTQIA+ youth and families. I integrate cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, mindfulness practices, and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, resilience, and meaningful change.
In all areas of my work, I aim to create inclusive spaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Drawing on my experiences as an early childhood assistant, peer mentor, and graduate residence director, I bring a developmentally informed and compassionate lens to therapy, always striving to facilitate holistic healing for both individuals and families.
